Do you remember, way back in 2008, when I was in the midst of a long and paperwork-filled Peace Corps application? Well, I received this today. My COS (“Close of Service”) packet - full of paperwork that reminds me fondly of those early days…
So here I am, somehow, about to complete my Peace Corps service and be on my way to life back home. The two years flew by and were full of surprise, boredom, adventure, heart-swells, heart-breaks, losses, gains, unbelievably awful days, and mind-boggle-ingly incredibly beautiful days. Found, lost, and re-found direction.
Now I start this new section - where I figure out how to wrap up my life here, and step back into a life over there that, right now, could not feel any further away. It’ll take some time to sort out the past two years, and even more to begin sorting out whatever is ahead. Oh, the possibilities!
Anyway, I hope to see all of your beautiful faces in 3 1/2 months (give or take, depending on my travel whims)! And if any of you will be in the W Africa area between now and mid-September, please do let me know!
